Nikon F6 Serial Numbers
Serial number in the 5000's. Yes, I know my 85mm and carpet need to be cleaned. Ever since I heard of the Nikon F6, something in me itched for one. The irrational part, of course - the rest knowing that digital rules, film is dead (and I shoot 5 rolls of film a year on my OM-1), etc. Well, too bad. Serial numbers of the body started at 2000001. By the end of 1991 #2230000 was issued; last serial numbers at the end of the last production year (1996) are in the #26xxxxx-range. Nikon F4 (body + DP-20 + MB-20) The basic camera, called Nikon F4, has a handgrip with battery compartment MB-20 (four normal AA-batteries).

You can see the number of the recent film in the information window in the back of the camera. Just press Info and the film number is there. I have a film in the camera just now and can only see the information about that film. Without film in the camera I guess that you can check all the previous films. You have all the exposure details of every frame of the film, if the camera is programmed for this.

Nikon F6 Manual
I recommend buying the MV-1 Data Reader, which makes it possible to record every detail to the hard disk of a computer. The MV-1 also works with F5 and F100. When you have the film number in the display you should get the information for every frame that you have exposed by pressing the right side of the multi-selector. If this does not happen it is because the recording of shooting data has not been activated. Have you got the Instruction Manual?

Nikon F6 Review
From page 116 forwards this is told in the manual. You activate the recording by opening: Menu, Set up, Shooting data, Data stored and finally you choose Basic or Detailed for how many datas you want to show. I hope that this will help.
